1st of ESO physical Fitness work

Students must answer 10 questions;   students are allowed to choose either to answer the questions individually,   in pairs or groups up to three people. Each question is worth 2 points and a minimum of 10 points is required to pass the theory part of the subject. The student`s work should be handwritten and submitted to the teacher by november the 23rd. Please, do not foget to write names and class group.


1. Define warm up in your own words
2. Explain the benefits of the warm up
3. List the effects of the warm up on your body
4. List the parts of the warm up and give examples of exercises which best fit each part of the warm up.
5. Explain the difference between the general and specific parts of the warm up. Use examples of exercises to contrast them.
6. Explain the difference between static and dynamic stretching. Use examples of exercises to contrast them.
7. How long should each part of a warm up take? Enumerate each part with the amount of time assigned to it.
8. Explain in your own words why a specific warm up is important.
9. How long should it pass between the end of the warm up and the beginning of the competition or main activity?
10. Give examples of exercises used in class to stretch the main muscle groups.
